Parish Ministries Parish minstries include those groups within the parish who are involved in liturgical celebrations, prayer life or specific outreach programs but do not include regional, national or international organizations that parish groups may be affiliated with. Those groups are listed above under Parish Organizations. Altar Servers: Young people in our parish are invited to serve around the Table of the Lord. Participation is generally at the week-end Masses but servers are encouraged to participate in other liturgies such as special occasions, weddings, and funerals when available. Contact Deacon Bill for more infomation. Liturgy of the Word with Children At St. Edmund's, the Liturgy of the Word with Children (LWC) is offered to the children, kindergarten (age 4 included) through Grade 6, at all the weekend Masses from September to May. LWC provides the opportunity for the children: to hear the proclamation of the reading and the Gospel at their level of understanding; reflect, respond and explore how God's message connects and applies to their daily lives and experiences; and engage in the worship celebration with prayer, song, ritual and use of symbols. If you would like more information or have questions/comments regarding this children's ministry, please contact Sharon Séguin at 514-695-7100. Ministers of Distribution: Members of the faithful are called to this ministry to help in the distribution at the Eucharist in parish liturgies. For more information, please contact Suzanne Watt at 514-695-3684. Lectors: Lectors are parishioners who have a love of scripture and a gift for proclaiming the Word in a clear and lively manner at our liturgies. We are always in search of new members for this vital ministry. For more information, please contact Peter Alves at 514-457-9073. Ministers of Hospitality: Ministers of Hospitality are the first to welcome each person to Sunday worship. They help with the collection, the procession of the giftsand other needs of the community. The Ministry of Hospitality is open to all ages. For more information, please contact Ken Robertson at 514-697-4215. Music Ministry: The music ministry at St. Edmund's helps to make our litugies more meaningful and celebatory. Three different music teams help in each of the week-end litugies: the more reflective 5 pm Saturday Mass; the children's choir at 9 am on Sunday and the adult choir at 11 am on Sunday. The recruits are warmly welcomed whether they be aspiring musicians or chorists.
